Even though I would be considered a technologist by most, I do not love technology for technology’s sake. I see it as a tool that can be used to help improve the lives of the people who use it. To that end, I strive to understand the need before working on the fit.
I have been called – by more than one person – the most non-IT IT person they know. I take that as a great compliment because it showcases my ability to work with all walks of corporate life, translating between technical and business to ensure the best solution.
So will you find me tinkering with the latest server builds and development tools? Absolutely. But having a new hammer doesn’t mean everything is suddenly a nail.
